ದೇವದಾಸಿ ಪದ್ಧತಿ ನಿರ್ಮೂಲನೆಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರೂ ಕೈ ಜೋಡಿಸಿ: ವಾಸಂತಿ ಉಪ್ಪಾರ ಕರೆ

 : ಸಮಾಜದ ಸ್ವಾಸ್ಥ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡುವ ಅನಿಷ್ಟ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯಾದ ದೇವದಾಸಿ ಪದ್ಧತಿಯ ನಿರ್ಮೂಲನೆಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರೂ ಕೈ ಜೋಡಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ನಿಗಮದ ಪ್ರದಾನ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕರಾದ ವಾಸಂತಿ ಉಪ್ಪಾರ ಅವರು ಕರೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

: Vasanti Uppara, Chief Executive Officer of Karnataka State Women Development Corporation, has called for everyone to join hands in the eradication of the Devadasi system, an evil system that is destroying the well-being of the society.
She spoke after participating in a dialogue meeting organized recently (June 8) with former Devadasi women at the Koppal Urban Development Authority auditorium.
The practice of leaving Devadasi is the worst social evil, which plunges the lives of innocent women into darkness. The government has enacted a law to eradicate this iniquitous system, and if any woman is subjected to the Devadasi system, those responsible for it and those who encouraged it will be severely punished. Practicing the Devadasi system in any form is a punishable offense under the law. Therefore, if you, the former Devadasi, are found practicing this iniquitous system, you should join hands in the eradication of this system by informing the concerned authorities.
He said that the government has conducted a survey of former Devadasis and based on the survey report, steps are being taken at the government level to improve the lives of former Devadasis women.
Deputy Director of the Women and Child Development Department Amaresh Havina, Women and Child Development Officer Annapurna, Child Development Project Officer Rohini, Inspector of the Women Development Corporation Purnima and the staff of the department were present in this consultation meeting.
