Gadag: Poverty, hunger, pain and suffering
A member of the District Awareness Committee of Haveri District Kannada Development Authority, senior poet Dr. Pushpa Shalavadi Math expressed the opinion that a poet needs to respond to the current anxieties.
Sinchana Prakashan was organized at the Government Employees’ Hall in Huvana Hadagali town. In collaboration with the May Sahitya Mela Balaga Huvana Hadagali, Gadag poet A.A.S. Makanadara participated in the launch program of an important poetry collection Darveshi Padhya Kriti and spoke about the work.
The poet has revealed the words of friendship and equality of the Sufi saints of Sharan in simple verses.
He said that the poet has melted away and expressed the severe hardships of the common people of the society in poetic form.
Derveshis are those who constantly work to spread the noble values of leading a simple life. He described the derveshi, who leads a life of sacrifice without pride, as having composed poems in a unique way that is rare in the world of Kannada literature.
He said that in the era of inequality, corruption, and the fear of war, the poems of the derveshi work have been fruitful in fusing human relations.
He recalled that the poems of the derveshi work have been selected for the curriculum of Krishnadevaraya University, Bellary and Kuvempu University.
Literary scholar Ismail Eligar dedicated the poem of the derveshi.
Continuously published poet A.S. Makanadara spoke and said that the poems are being read by graduate students for the curriculum of Krishnadevaraya University, Bellary.
Akhand Bellary Vijayanagar district’s cultural land Flower Boat in Vijayanagar district said that it was a special event that Derveshi’s work was launched.
Literary scholar To.M. Shankraya presided over the event.
Poet Ramappa Kotihal, Sinchana Prakashan Savita Angadi, Librarian B. Narayan Das, Sinchana Poetry Award winners Somalinga Bedara Alur and Hurakadli Shivakumar were present.
Journalist M Dayanand, Nayana Angadi, Nagaraj Malki Odeyar conducted the event.
At the same time, a book exhibition and sale of various publishing houses was organized.
Literature enthusiasts from Flower Boat, Harapanahalli, Hagaribommanahalli participated.
