ಸಮಾಜ ದಾರಿ ತಪ್ಪುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಲೇಖನಿ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಮಾಜವನ್ನು ಸರಿದಾರಿಗೆ ತರುವ ಯತ್ನ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಸಾಧನೆ ಗುರುತಿಸಿ ಆಗಾಗ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರನ್ನು ಸಂಘ-ಸAಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ಈ ತರಹದ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಿಸುವ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು.
ಆಗ ಇಂತಹ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರು ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆ ನೀಡುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತೆ ಉತ್ತಮ ವರದಿಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆ ನೀಡುವ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂದು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಗಡಿಪ್ರದೇಶ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಸೋಮಣ್ಣ ಬೇವಿನಮರದ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಕೇರಳ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಕಾಸರಗೋಡಿನ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಕುಡಾಲ್ ಮೇರ್ಕಾಲ್ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಸುಬ್ಬಯ್ಯಕಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಸರಗೋಡು ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಸಂಘ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಗಡಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರ, ಕೆಯುಡಬ್ಲೂಜೆಗಳ ಸಂಯುಕ್ತಾಶ್ರಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಶನಿವಾರ ದತ್ತಿನಿಧಿ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ವಿತರಣಾ ಸಮಾರಂಭ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ಗಂಗಾವತಿಯ ಹಿರಿಯ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ವಿಶ್ಬನಾಥ ಬೆಳಗಲ್‌ಮಠ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅನಿವಾಸಿ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಉದ್ಯಮಿ ಜೋಸೆಫ್ ಮಾಥಿಯಾಸ್ ದುಬೈ (ಜೆಎಂಡಬ್ಲೂ) ದತ್ತಿನಿಧಿ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ನಾನಾ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಹಿರಿಯ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರಿಗೆ ದತ್ತಿನಿಧಿ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ನೀಡಿ ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸೋಮಣ್ಣ ಬೇವಿನಮರದ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಕೇರಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಸಂಘಟನೆ ಆಯೋಜಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಇಡೀ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಮತ್ತು ಕೇರಳಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾದರಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಗಡಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಕೇರಳ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರು ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆ ಉಳಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸೇವೆ ಅನುಪಮವಾದದ್ದು.
ಸಮಾಜದ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಭೂಮಿಕೆ ವಹಿಸುವ ಮತ್ತು ಎಲೆಮರೆ ಕಾಯಿಯಂತಿರುವ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಇಂತಹ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವ ಕೆಲಸ ಕೇರಳ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಸಂಘ ಮಾಡಿರುವುದು ಶ್ಲಾಘನೀಯ ಎಂದರು.
ಪ್ರಾಸ್ತಾವಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಕಾಸರಗೋಡು ಕನ್ನಡ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಕ್ಷೇಮಾಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಸಂಘದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ರವಿ ನಾಯ್ಕಾಪು, ಗಡಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಶಾಲೆ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಆಸ್ಮಿತೆ ಉಳಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ತಂಡ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಕೇರಳ ಸರ್ಕಾರದಿಂದ ಸರಿಯಾದ ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹ ಸಿಗದೇ ಕನ್ನಡ ದಿನದಿಂದ ದಿನಕ್ಕೆ ನಶಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ.
ಕೇವಲ ಕನ್ನಡ ಶಾಲೆಗಳ ವಿಚಾರ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಬಗ್ಗೆಯೂ ಕೇರಳ ಎರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಮಲತಾಯಿ ಧೋರಣೆ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ.  ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ನಾವೇ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಸಂಘ ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಡ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ, ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ, ಪಿಂಚಣಿಯAತ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಜಾರಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಎಂದರು.
ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಕನಿಷ್ಟ ವೇತನಾ ಸಲಹಾ ಮಂಡಳಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಟಿ.ಎಂ. ಶಹೀದ್, ಗಡಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರದ ಸದಸ್ಯರಾದ ಶಿವರೆಡ್ಡಿ ಕ್ಯಾಡೇದ್ ನವಲಿ, ಕೆಯುಡಬ್ಲೂಜೆ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಎ.ಆರ್. ಸುಬ್ಬಯನಕಟ್ಟೆ, ಪ್ರಮುಖರಾದ ಬಿ.ಎ. ಖಾದರ್ ಹಾಜಿ ಬಗುಡೆಲ್, ಬಿ.ಎ. ಬಶೀರ್, ಅಶೋಕ ಬಂಡಾರಿ ಕುಡಾಲ್, ರಾಘವ ಚೇರಾಲ್ ಇತರರಿದ್ದರು.

Then such journalists will work to inspire society through good reports, said Somanna Bevinamarda, chairman of the state government’s Border Area Development Authority.
The charity award distribution ceremony was organized on Saturday at Subbayyakatte in Kudal Merkal village of Kasaragod district in the joint auspices of the Kasaragod District Kannada Journalists Association, Karnataka Border Area Development Authority, and KUWJ.
Senior journalist Vishwanath Belgalmath of Gangavathi was presented with the Endowment Fund Award by Non-Resident Indian Businessman Joseph Mathias Dubai (JMW) Endowment Fund to senior journalists from various districts.
This program organized by the Kannada Journalists Association in Kerala is a model for the entire Karnataka and Kerala. The service being done by these Kannada journalists of Kerala in the border area towards preserving the Kannada language is unparalleled.
He said that the work done by the Kannada Journalists Association of Kerala in identifying such journalists of Karnataka who play an important role in the development of the society and are doing work like a leafless tree is commendable.
Ravi Naikapu, President of the Kasaragod Kannada Journalists Welfare Association, who gave the introductory speech, said that our team is working towards saving Kannada language schools and Kannada cultural identity in the border area. But without proper encouragement from the Kerala government, Kannada is dying day by day.
Not only the issue of Kannada schools, but also the Kerala state government is showing a stepmotherly attitude towards Kannada journalists. Therefore, we have formed a Kannada Journalists Association and implemented schemes for the health, education of children and pension of poor Kannada journalists, he said.
On this occasion, Karnataka Minimum Wage Advisory Board President T.M. Shaheed, Border Area Development Authority members Shivareddy Caded Navali, KUWJ President A.R. Subbayanakatte, prominent B.A. Khader Haji Bagudel, B.A. Basheer, Ashoka Bandari Kudal, Raghava Cheral and others were present.
