Meeting of the Special Task Force formed to find kidnapped and missing children<\/p>\n

Koppala March 18: An analysis of the cases of kidnapped and missing children has shown that girls are the most affected, and there is a need to create proper understanding among children and more awareness about child rights and laws related to children in schools and colleges, said District Superintendent of Police Dr. Ram L. Arasiddi.
\nHe was speaking while presiding over a meeting of the Special Task Force formed to find kidnapped and missing children, organized jointly by the District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, District Police, Women and Child Development Department, District Child Protection Unit, Koppal on Tuesday at the District Superintendent of Police office hall.
\nThe Honorable Supreme Court, in its judgment in Writ Petition 75\/2012, has taken the cases of missing children seriously, registered a case as a kidnapping case and ordered an investigation. Analyzing the cases of kidnapping registered in the district, it was found that in most of the cases, girls are the victims. Since most of the cases registered are kidnapped girls between the ages of 16-18, the study found that there are a large number of cases of girls who left their parents and home in the name of love and affection. Consensual sexual activities with minor children are also considered crimes under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act-2012. And strict punishment is being imposed. Due to this, there is a high possibility of families facing financial hardship. Children are being affected under this act whether they know it or not. The government has suggested steps to be taken to create further awareness about the rights of children and laws related to children in schools, colleges and hostels and in communities. Therefore, he instructed the officials of the participating departments to create more awareness about this in the institutions and communities under your jurisdiction. Parents are also advised to provide appropriate information to the children regarding the upbringing and protection of children.
